In addition to private pay, we accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. For the uninsured, a sliding fee scale is available based on income. A new teen health center located inside River Rouge High School has been busy since opening its doors in early November. The center serves young people ages ten through 21, or up to 26 for students with special needs. Over 90 percent of students in the River Rouge district qualify for free and reduced lunches, an indicator for a high rate of poverty in the community. Nearly 40 percent of students reported they did not see a doctor or health care provider for a checkup or physical exam when they were not sick or injured in the past 12 months.
